Krill oil is made from Krill, a small, shrimp-like crustacean that inhabits the cold ocean areas of the world. Krill oil, like regular fish oil, contains omega-3 fats such as EPA and DHA. However, in fish these oils are found in a triglyceride form. Human cell walls are in the phospholipid form making fish oil inferior to Krill oil which is in the same phospholipid form as humans. Krill also contains up to 48 times more potent antioxidants than fish oil such as vitamin E, canthaxanthin and astaxanthin.
